One Year In Review
Exactly one year ago, I walk onto the the stage in the Marbel Chapel at Emmaus Bible College and recieved my college diploma.
June 2008: I leave my job at Staples, throw away tons of stuff, say goodbye to friends and family, load up Dexter and head to North Carolina.
June-August 2008: I spend my summer at Hickory Cove Bible Camp having the time of my life serving God alongside some of my favorite people on this planet.
Mid-August 2008: I once again packed up Dexter with even fewer worldly possessions and head to Dallas, Texas. I see my cousin Rachel get married, and get to see my family and various other relatives. The next day, I drive to Midland, Texas—a place I have never been before, to live with people I have never spoken to before.
October 2008: I’m beginning to sense God is going to keep me in Midland. This is against my current plans of moving back to North Carolina at the end my internship in Midland in May 2009.
December 2008: A few days before I head to Minnesota for a couple weeks, I’m asked to come on staff full-time with the TechKnow Monks. The day I’m leaving for Minnesota, I find out one of my good friends from Hickory Cove was killed in a car accident. I take a 1,500 mile detour to be able to attend the funeral.
January 2009: After a 5,000 mile trip, I arrive back in Midland in. I move out of the Dunn’s home into my new residence, as part of my new employment status.
January-April 2009: I continue to geek out and love my new job. Easter rolls around and I fly out to San Diego to visit Aaron, Gretchen, and my awesome nephew Ethan. I also get to see my grandparents in Walnut Creek, whom I haven’t seen in a few years.
May 2009: If you asked me one year ago that I would be where I’m at now, I would have lol’d and said you were nuts. I’m so blessed to be in the church I am, have the job I have, and have some awesome friendships. Now I just have to get a wife and I’m set ;)
